Leasing a Polestar model is the same as leasing the offspring of superstar Serena Williams and dependable Father Christmas. Polestar began life as Flash Engineering, a racing team competing in the Swedish Touring Car Championship but was acquired in 2015 by the name synonymous with dependability, ‘Volvo'.
In October 2017, Volvo announced Polestar would become a standalone brand with the sole focus of producing electric cars that excelled, and they have certainly delivered on that promise.
First came the Polestar 1 in 2018. A 2-door plug-in hybrid sports car designed by Thomas Ingenlath, who previously led design at Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda, to compete with high-end models such as the Porsche 911 Turbo S, and the BMW M8. Leasing a Polestar 1 is not possible anymore as they were discontinued in 2022 to make way for the upcoming Polestar 4 and 5.
The Polestar 2 was unveiled in 2020 as an all-electric luxury saloon car to compete with the Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y and the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Polestar 2 has a total of over 400 bhp, can achieve 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 127mph. It has a driving range of up to 406 miles from a single charge that can be completed overnight at home with a standard wall charger. The Polestar 2 was the first car to feature a native Android infotainment system, and, thanks to this partnership with Google, continual updates are used across the range, keeping the tech in this car up to date.
The luxury crossover SUV Polestar 3 was released in 2023 to compete in the premium SUV EV market against the BMW iX, Jaguar I-Pace and the Tesla Model X. It is an AWD vehicle with 483 bhp, 620 lb-ft of torque and runs off a 400V lithium-ion battery. These help it achieve a top speed of 130 mph, 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and give it a driving range of 379 miles from a single charge. As expected with a premium model, it comes with all the tech you could need, including a 14.5” centre screen with all the latest Google Android updates.
The Polestar 4, 5 and 6 are all in pre-production and set to be on the market by 2026.

Polestar Personal and Business Lease Programs: Empowering Your Journey
When deciding between Polestar lease deals, your first consideration should be whether a personal or business lease is best for your needs. At Gateway2lease, we make the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 accessible to all by providing it in both lease options. The primary distinction between a personal and business lease is the intended use of the vehicle, which has an impact on liability, tax, mileage allowance, insurance and other costs. Polestar leasing on business terms will benefit from many tax breaks that a personal lease won't be eligible for since it is being used for commercial purposes. However, both lease terms will get you a stunning vehicle with great tech and performance for a much lower price than with traditional car financing and, being all-electric vehicles, both will benefit from government and local authority schemes.
