General Guides

With prices rising significantly faster than incomes it's increasingly becoming a challenge to stretch your finances as far as they need to go.

Fuel, food, and everyday items are becoming more expensive on an almost daily basis. One way to try and reduce costs is to fix your monthly costs and lease your next car.

With that in mind we've picked out five cars that will give you the assurance of driving a brand-new vehicle and any of them could be yours for under £300 per month.

Looking for an SUV?

If space and practicality is what you're looking for there are a couple of fantastic crossover SUV types to choose from.

Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai Tucson 1.6 T-GDi Premium
£298 per month

The fourth generation Hyundai Hyundai Tucson is definitely the best yet. It offers the space and versatility of an SUV without breaking the bank. It's longer and wider so there's plenty of space for five people, and the clean and crisp interior is packed with the latest technology. You get air conditioning, sat nav, heated seats, Bluetooth, and at the moment you can even specify metallic paint without paying extra. Start your search here.

Nissan Qashqai

Nissan Qashqai 1.3 Dig-T Acenta Premium Xtronic
£250 per month

The Nissan Qashqai is the car that started the trend for mainstream family SUVs, and this 3rd generation builds on that ground-breaking opener. There are plenty of trims available and engine options are two 1.3 DIG-T petrol units (138bhp or 156bhp) with light hybrid assistance. This particular version sits in the middle of the range and is fitted with the larger engine option for a bit more power. The dashboard includes chunky controls for the air conditioning (fitted as standard) that are easy to find while you're driving and the analogue instrument dials behind the steering wheel are replaced with an entirely digital 12.3in display, which is bright and easy to read. Find a range of Nissan Qashqai lease deals here.

Make your budget go further with a city car

If you're on the lookout for something a bit smaller and more at home in the city there are also some great deals available on smaller hatchbacks.

Fiat 500 MHEV

Fiat 500 1.0 mHEV
£153 per month

Over the years, Fiat has made some minor tweaks to the 500's exterior styling and the interior, but more significant improvements to the engines and infotainment system. This particular version is fitted with the mild-hybrid system as standard so it's perfectly suited for darting through traffic. Every model from Lounge trim upwards gets a 7.0in touchscreen with Bluetooth, and smartphone mirroring. This one also comes with air conditioning, cruise control, and a part-leather interior for an added touch of class. More Fiat 500 deals here.

VW Polo Hatch

Volkswagen Polo 5-Door 1.0 TSI 95PS R-Line
£229 per month

The VW Polo is a huge seller and it isn't hard to see why. This particular option is a little bigger than the aforementioned Fiat 500 and being the R-Line trim, it's also packed with extra bits. Such as 16in alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, built-in sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors, adjustable lumbar support and a 12.5in digital instrument display are all standard options. The punchy little engine might only produce 94bhp but it's more than enough for darting around town and it's still capable of happily cruising along at motorway speeds. Start your budget-stretching search here.

And if you're still worried about running costs and the rising price of fuel, would you believe there's an all-electric option that still falls within budget…..just.

MINI Electric Hatch

MINI Cooper S 33kwh 2 Auto
£295 per month

Rather than worrying about fuel bills you could lease yourself an electric MINI instead. The MINI 3dr is a hugely desirable car and the electric version uses the BMW i3's single e-motor with 184bhp to deliver 0-62mph in 7.3secs. It's a quick little thing. The T-shaped battery pack sits low down in the car and combined with some tweaks to the suspension it grips and goes like a MINI Cooper S should. The digital screen behind the steering wheel is well laid out and the centre screen handles the rest of the functionality. This particular model includes air conditioning, Bluetooth, sat nav, heated seats, and cruise control so there's no shortage of creature comforts but without the hefty petrol bills. You'll need to contact us for this particular offer - so please enquire here.

Remember…

Leasing a car is a great way of fixing your monthly costs. With these great offers (and many more are available) this might be the best time to stop buying and make the most of easing - and watch your car budget go further.
