Leasing a Flagship Executive Saloon Doesn't Need To Be Out Of Reach

Driver Guides

WHAT is the best car in the world? We don't mean the best brand, but the best car in a particular product line-up.

If you look across the automotive landscape there are a few models that stand out. Not because they are loud and brash, but because they glide along in the background without making a fuss. These are the immensely powerful, beautifully equipped executive saloons.

From the outside they appear to be, at least to the uninitiated, regular saloons, albeit slightly larger than is the norm. Subtlety is the key. On the inside it's a different story though. These are the range-topping models that are finished in the finest materials, packed with the latest technology, and driven by the most powerful engines.

For many these cars are unobtainable examples of motoring excellence with enormous price tags. Or are they? Leasing can bring these high end cars well within reach of more people than you may think. We're not going to pretend that leasing an executive saloon isn't expensive but it certainly opens up the possibility for a lot more drivers.

But which one should you choose? There are a number of options that are worth considering and they cover a wide range of budgets. We've taken a look at what's out there and picked a few examples that may be exactly what you are looking for.

Mercedes S-Class

Mercedes-Benz S Class

For many this is their first thought when it comes to executive luxury saloons. The S Class is traditionally the place where the latest technology first appears and it has a reputation as one of the finest executive saloons available.

Every new S Class that comes along is roundly praised for its luxury and cutting-edge technology. The S-Class remains the benchmark for all other luxury cars to aspire to. The combination of effortless comfort and a beautifully crafted cabin ensure it stays one step ahead of the competition.

The latest S-Class features a new range of super-efficient engines, from the new six-cylinder diesel in the S 350 d to the new six-cylinder S 500 petrol, the 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 in the Mercedes-AMG S 63 and the 6.0-litre V12 S 65.

Lease prices range from around £680 to £2270 per month depending on trim and engine choice.

BMW 7 Series

BMW 7 Series

The 7 Series combines superb modern luxury with the outstanding driving dynamics BMW is famous for. With its many technical innovations there can be no doubt that the new BMW 7 Series is an outstanding flagship for the brand.

Whether you're looking at the exterior or reclining into the incredibly comfortable leather seats you can tell every detail has been executed with meticulous precision. The BMW 7 Series is a car that boasts elegance, refinement, advanced technology and high quality workmanship.

The range of engines offers outstanding performance and economy from the 2.0-litre diesel in the 725d to the 6.6-litre V12 in the M760Li. For those of an environmental mindset there are even a few plug-in hybrid variants to choose from.

Lease prices for the BMW 7 Series range from around £499 to £1600 per month.

Jaguar XJ

Jaguar XJ

The XJ has just had a facelift for 2018 so now is the time to consider the move into the flagship Jaguar. A host of technology upgrades and the addition of the latest intelligent safety features has taken the Jaguar XJ to the next level, placing it amongst the very best of the executive saloons.

Jaguar has always designed the XJ to be the ultimate drivers car with a real physical presence and graceful design. Tailor-made exterior details create an imposing car while the very latest technology and bespoke interior finish add to the already impressive package of style, comfort and agility.

The choice of either a 3.0-litre diesel or 3.0-litre petrol may feel somewhat restricted compared to its rivals but don't let that put you off. The diesel still offers around 300bhp, 340bhp from the petrol, so there is no shortage of power to glide you effortlessly down the road. If that's not enough you could always consider the 5.0-litre V8 in the XJR with around 575bhp.

Lease prices for the Jaguar XJ start from around £550 per month and go up to £1,050 for the V8 versions.

Hyundai Genesis

Hyundai Genesis

We are willing to bet that none of you saw this one coming. That's exactly the point. If you want a high-end executive saloon the likes of Mercedes, BMW, and Jaguar are the automatic choice, which is exactly why the Genesis is worth a mention.

The Genesis brand is the luxury arm of Hyundai and it has left a lot of people utterly amazed. In terms of comfort, luxury, and performance it's every bit as good as many of its rivals. From the layout of the controls and luxury materials, to the seat stitching and elegant colour palette, every element of the interior reinforces the focus on the comfort of the car's occupants.

As the Genesis brand is so new it doesn't have the wide range of engines available from other cars. That being said, the 3.8-litre V6 engine in the Genesis produces around 315bhp so it's is more than capable of keeping up with all but the most powerful executive saloons. It may be a bit left-field but for many that will be the deciding factor.

Lease prices for the Genesis start from around £606 per month depending on the exact specification chosen.

As we said, these are executive saloons and the lease prices reflect their status as flagship models. If you are one of the lucky few in a position to get behind the wheel of these high-end cars feel free to get in touch and we'll be delighted to get you behind the wheel of your next lease car.
