Disguised new Audi Q6 testing

General Guides  New Launches

The new Audi Q6 e-tron prototype has been officially teased during cold weather testing ahead of a reveal later this year.

The Audi Q6 e-tron is just the beginning of the largest model offensive in the history of the brand. Audi will introduce more than 20 new models by 2025 – more than 10 of which will be electric – with the Q6 being the first to arrive when it goes on sale later this year.

Built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) technology platform, the Q6 e-tron will feature an 800-volt electrical system, an innovative battery and charging management system, and newly developed electronics. On top of that new platform, the Q6 will be available in both SUV and Sportback versions that should offer around 400 miles of range.

These teasers are the first official images of the new Audi Q6 e-tron, and they give you a first glimpse of what it'll actually look like.

The grille's fake, but the rest is 100% Audi

It has a split headlight design, and like most EVs the front end will also likely have a fake grille. From the side, this new SUV looks to the current Audi Q5 with its sporty-looking sloped roofline and subtle roof spoiler at the rear. The taillights are slim LED units, and that camouflage wrap might also conceal a full-width light bar. The new Audi Q6 e-tron is likely to share much of its interior design with the Q4 e-tron, with a bit more space and a few extras that reflect its bigger price tag.

This new electric SUV will obviously sit below the Audi Q8 e-tron in the range, making it an alternative to cars such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the forthcoming Porsche Macan EV. That means it will probably cost somewhere in the region of £60k so you can imagine how luxuriously equipped it's likely to be.

The new Audi Q6 e-tron is currently undergoing cold weather testing somewhere in the north of Europe. Audi will no doubt tease us with more snippets before the big reveal sometime around the summer so watch this space if you're currently wondering what to lease next from Audi, head over to our main Audi page, to stay up-to-date with the latest models.
