We know this doesn’t apply to everyone, but for the vast majority of lease customers one of the biggest selling points of any car is how practical it is for family use.

It doesn’t really matter whether it’s a business or a personal lease, if you’ve got children the chances are you’re going to need something suitable for transporting the whole family. That family-friendly DNA is clearly evident in the new Renault Symbioz.

From the Renault 16 of the 1960s, through the Espace of the 80s, and on to the Scenic range introduced in the 90s, Renault has always tried to create cars that are family oriented.

The new Renault Symbioz is the latest model to carry the torch of that tradition.

The Symbioz is the new C-segment (comapct family sized) SUV that completes Renault’s full-hybrid E-Tech range. The Renault Symbioz slots into the range between the Captur and Austral, embodying the best of the brand’s design, connectivity, and efficiency.

The exterior design of the Renault Symbioz is simple and clean, boasting a contemporary look at the front combined with a rear end that promises lots of boot space.

Tapering headlights joined by a black strip that mirrors the lower body trim ensure a pared-back appearance that also adds width to the car. The sculpted rear end also makes the new Symbioz appear wider, while the vertical tailgate should make loading and unloading a breeze. It sits on large 19-inch alloy wheels to complement the refined looks, and you can specify it in one of seven colours to add your own personal touch.

The interior is equally stylish, and the new Renault Symbioz is also loaded with the latest technology. It may be designed as a compact family SUV, but the Symbioz manages to offer a roomy and practical interior without sacrificing its compact exterior dimensions.

It features a modular layout with a sliding rear bench seat. The rear is accessed via an automatic tailgate for convenience, and the spacious boot boasts a flat floor and no lip at the rear for easy loading of bulky items.

Symbioz also offers 24.7 litres of useful storage space inside the cabin, including 7 litres in the glovebox alone.

It’s not just practical either. Comfortable seats finished in trim-specific upholstery options, USB-C sockets front and back, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic roof that can switch between clear and opaque at the press of a button all add to the sense of light, space, and comfort.

Other technological updates in the new Renault Symbioz also include an OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in as standard on all models in the range. The central 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen allows drivers and passengers to access a connected world of content and services, with a second 10.3-inch screen angled towards the driver and displaying all of the essential information. Interior mood lighting, a Harman Kardon hi-fi system, and a whole suite of the latest driver aids also feature across the range.

Choose the trim that suits your family

The new Renault Symbioz is available in three levels of trim – techno, techno esprit Alpine, and iconic esprit Alpine – and depending on your chosen trim level, you can also benefit from automatic lights and wipers, tinted privacy glass, cruise control, rear-view camera, heated seats, and even a hands-free parking function.

The technology continues under the flat bonnet too. The Symbioz features Renault’s highly efficient and economical E-Tech hybrid 145 powertrain.

The hybrid system combines a 36kW e-motor and an 18kW HSG (High-voltage Starter Generator) with a 94bhp 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The intelligent gearbox has four gears for the petrol engine and two gears for the main electric motor, allowing the Symbioz to combine operation of the engine and motor in up to 14 different ways for optimised fuel efficiency. To further enhance the efficiency and reduce emissions, the hybrid powertrain always starts off in electric mode too.

The new Renault Symbioz is intended to mark a new era in family mobility for the brand. Its compact styling is appealing, it offers lots of practical space, it’s comfortable and well-equipped, and it offers excellent value in terms of leasing and running costs.

It’s also available to order right now with first deliveries due to commence in September. So, if you fancy leasing yourself the ideal family car you might want to consider getting your name on the list for a brand-new Renault Symbioz of your own.
