All-new range of Nissan EVs to launch: Micra, Leaf and Juke

Nissan has outlined its new product line up with its popular Micra, Leaf and Juke models all going fully electric.
The first of these, the Micra, will be available in the UK by the end of 2025. It is based on the same platform as the celebrated new Renault 5 E-Tech and has been designed at Nissan Design Europe, which is based in London.
There will be two battery options available: 40kWh and 52kWh, providing a maximum range of 248 miles. Sales of the new Micra will begin before the end of the year. It will be built at Ampere ElectriCity plant in Douai, France, where the Renault 5 is also built as part of the existing Renault-Nissan Alliance.
Next up is the new Nissan Leaf. This will be built at Nissan’s Sunderland plant and go on sale later in 2025.
This is the third generation of the first mass-market EV introduced in 2010 when it had a range of some hundred miles. The new Leaf, with its crossover SUV styling and based on the platform of the larger Ariya SUV, is likely to offer over 370 miles on a charge.
And finally, but not coming until 2027, is the new Juke. This will be based on the Hyper Punk concept car which was shown at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2023.
Commenting on the new electric range of Nissan models, Leon Dorssers, the Regional Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle-East, India, Europe & Oceania), said:
“The renewal of Nissan’s European line-up is the realisation of our bold plan to electrify our range in Europe. All the new models will share common Nissan DNA: striking design, technical innovation and intuitive technology – a combination of qualities which we are confident will attract new buyers to Nissan, as well as continuing to appeal to existing customers who already love how Nissan vehicles enrich their daily lives.”
